Demystifying Biodegradation: A Journey Through BioNatur's Sustainable Process

In a world grappling with the environmental repercussions of plastic waste, the concept of biodegradation emerges as a beacon of hope. At BioNatur, we are pioneers in harnessing this natural process to create sustainable solutions for a cleaner, greener future. Join us on a journey through the biodegradation process, from production to the transformation of plastic into natural materials.

Step 1: Production

Our journey begins at the production stage, where our organic polymer is seamlessly integrated with other raw materials to create plastic products. This blend ensures durability and functionality while laying the groundwork for future biodegradation. Most importantly, our additive has no effect on the shelf life or stability of the final product, while making it stronger and thinner!

Step 2: Waste Management

Once our products fulfill their purpose and are disposed of, they can still be recycled right along with “regular” plastics. No special sorting is needed! But if they find themselves in the vast landscape of landfills, our true difference kicks in. Here amidst the layers of waste, our plastic awaits its transformation through the biodegradation process.

Step 3: The Process Begins

As our plastic enters the landfill, it marks the commencement of a remarkable journey. Within this anaerobic environment specific bacteria thrive which will initiate the digestive process of biodegradation. These bacteria, adapted to oxygen-free conditions, eagerly digest our organic polymer, setting the stage for transformation.

Step 4: Plastic as a Resource

As biodegradation progresses, our plastic undergoes a remarkable metamorphosis. Structurally altered, the large plastic chains begin to break down into smaller hydrocarbons. Through our proprietary process we facilitate this transformation, harnessing the inherent potential of plastic as a resource rather than a pollutant.

Step 5: Biodegradation Unveiled

In the final stages of biodegradation the bacteria diligently continue their work, digesting the hydrocarbons and producing water, gases, and what can only be described as "dirt" (organic hummus).; This “dirt” is the culmination of the natural digestive process, yielding materials that seamlessly reintegrate into the environment.

In just 8-12 years your plastic completely transforms into natural materials, leaving behind no trace of microplastics. But don't just take our word for it – we've put our plastics to the test, meeting rigorous ASTM D5511 & D5526 testing to ensure they truly biodegrade into dirt and gas. In fact, our LDPE products have shown impressive anaerobic biodegradation rates in ASTM tests, with up to 92.5% biodegradation in 1473 days according to D5511, and up to 36.6% biodegradation in 391 days according to D5526.

The biodegradation process is not merely a means of waste disposal; it is a testament to the resilience and adaptability of nature. At BioNatur, we embrace this process as a cornerstone of our mission to combat plastic pollution and promote sustainable living. By understanding and harnessing the power of biodegradation we can pave the way for a brighter, cleaner future for generations to come. Join us in this journey towards sustainability.
